Winging Boat

Catamaran frame for stability – freely rotating wing working as a sail – ball joint connected rudder.
Rarely wind is pushing the sail and sailing upwind is possible with the lift created by the sail. But since we are not able to print a flexible fabric sail, we can print a wing instead.
Frame is the result of experimenting with some different modelling features and is a bit unusual looking.

Modelled with Autodesk Inventor 2014. Planned to enter this to the boat contest but lazy summer day
