I had a couple of Rainbowduino's laying around with the 8x8 LED matrix attached.

It has openings on both end for the connectors. You will need to flex the end to clear the pins, and you may need to file the opening above the USB connector if you plan on powering it via the USB.

I am using a hard wired 9v battery
