This is a project inspired by all those steampunk iris diaphragm goggles you can find on the web. UPDATE Had a pair 3D printed and they work really well. Surprisingly so. I used perforated metal foil instead of iris diaphragms though... ______________________________________________________ I'm interested in the tremendous improvement in visual acuity that can be achieved with these things. I'm nearsighted with pretty poor distance vision. However, with an aperture of about 1mm, I can see/read things as though I was wearing my glasses or contacts. It's amazing! This eyepiece is designed to accept a standard optical iris diaphragm (28mm OD, 18mm ID with a min aperture of 0.8mm). It just clips in, no screws required. It also uses standard nose pieces and straps you'd find on swimming goggles - or you can print/make your own...
