Update: 11/11
Re-work on retainer assembly to allow for more margin for error/less precise printing
Bolt increased to M8
Fattened out retainer clips
Extended Key Post (probably can get away with not reprinting this)
Will work on rotating parts to be print ready in next update
Design:
This is a long standing project of mine. The goal was to design a fully adjustable 3d printed spool/reel holder that can free-wheel. The result of my efforts is this.
The spool holder supports hole diameters between 51mm and 88mm.
The only additional hardware required is 8 small screws to mount the rail guides to the uprights. In future revisions I plan on reworking the adjustment system (think document feeder paper adjustment). For now, it is functional and rigid, but a little janky to adjust at the moment.
At the core of the project is emmett's Gear Bearings https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:53451 (give him some love). These make it possible for the spool to spin smoothly without needi
