Air Filter

I wanted an air filter to sit next to my printer and found the original design. It used carbon squares, which come in packs of 5, so rather than just putting the flat plate on top I decided to add another filter square.

The new top plate combines the old flat plate and filter mounts. I added an X support to stop the filter falling in. I've included a new version of the side filter mounts with the same X brace, though you don't really need it on the sides.

After I built it I found the weight of the fan was tipping it over so made a stand to support the weight of the fan. The fan is a standard 100mm ducting fan which cost about $10. It definitely seems to help keeping my workspace fume free.

I printed in PLA, fastest settings, but you'll probably need a hotbed, to keep everything flat. Print 3 of the Mount's and 1 of each of the others.

All the editing was done in Houdini (Free version). Contact me if you want the .hip files.
