This is a housing for the air quality sensor for the Sensor.Community (also known as Luftdaten / Airrohr project in Germany) :
https://sensor.community/
People all over the world have built sensors for < 100 bucks and put them outside their homes. They measure fine particulate matter in the air, temperature, humidity, and (optionally) other things like air pressure.
This housing is meant to be hung from a window sill protruding 58 mm from the wall, shorter sills should work as well. Attaching the string on the bottom is meant to distribute the load in case of strong wind for example.
# Additional materials required
- The sensor assembly, see https://sensor.community/en/sensors/airrohr/
- 9 x M3*12 bolts & nuts (or slightly smaller diameter)
- 1 x M2*12 bolt & nut (or slightly smaller diameter)
- Some string to go through the top holes and down to the bottom where you attach each end.
- 2 x adhesive felt pads < 22mm x 22mm (optional, but recommended to protect the wal
