EDIT: I updated the files:
akira_afterclean2.obj is the same model in an lighter obj format
akira_stl.stl the same model in in stl format
Akira class was always my favorite Star Trek ship. The reason I got interested in printing was so I could create my very own Akira model (this was before the starship collection) I made a simple mode that i printed for myself but recently i found this wonderful detailed model on thingverse. It is said that the model is form http://metlesitsfleetyards.deviantart.com/ so please check it out. That model was however good for animation and not for printing so I fixed the mesh and now it is ready for print! I had to rebuild the torpedo launchers and modify the bridge slightly but most of the detail is unmodified.
I will try to add a separated model in the future so the blue nacelles inside and the Bussard collector could be printed in different color plastic.
If you are interested I might fix more Star Trek models in the future :)
