Housing and mount for an allsky camera. Designed for an RPi 5, using an PI HQ cam and 180-degree lens. Includes option for motorized focus using a 28BYJ-48 stepper motor, dew heater, and a side port for future expansion.
Hopefully self-evident how this is to be assembled. Should go without saying to print in a material with good UV resistance - ASA or PETG should be good choices. I used white for the outer parts to minimize solar heating effects, and black for internal parts to mitigate potential for reflections. I printed the housing cylinder vertically, but you could try it horizontally as well. You will need supports either way, but I found I needed less support material in the vertical orientation.
Remove the 1/4-20 mounting bracket from the PiCam and use M2 or M2.5 screws to secure the camera into the body of the mount. Secure that to the top plate of the camera mount and then install the motor gears. The motor gear should press fit onto the motor shaft and the lens gear
