Motivation for creating this modelPoor quality paper spool filament often causes feeding problems at AMS. The spool slips, the rings on either side of the spool are misaligned, or the filament is wound too tightly.In particular, if the left and right rings are misaligned, the spool will not rotate properly on the AMS and will stop quite frequently with an error. This is not solved by adding reinforcement rings. To address this, if I am concerned about the supply, I open the AMS lid while continuing to print and hook the spool to the holder on the back of the P1S or to another spool holder. This allows me to continue printing without clogging the distorted, low quality spools.(One might think that you could just load the spool as an external spool instead of using the AMS, but loading an external spool is tedious and requires discarding the printed material along the way.)
