AMS Stabilizing Ballast Case

This item helps prevent low-filament spools from popping out of the AMS or having trouble rewinding properly.Fill this case tightly with metal weights or other heavy materials so there is no looseness, then insert it into the center of the spool.By increasing the spool’s weight, print errors can be reduced. I designed two types of ballast cases: a ventedCase (mesh type) and a sealedCase.The ventedCase allows airflow and can also hold desiccant.The sealedCase is more durable and can keep the ballast securely in place. It is compatible with spools from many manufacturers other than Bambu Lab.In particular, it is effective at reducing errors with cardboard spools and other lightweight spool types. For testing, I used coins, bolts, and glass marbles.Metal ballast provides better stability.Desiccant is light, so it does not seem to contribute much to stability. Pack the ballast with no gaps and tighten the cap firmly before use.
