So I tried the other over the top of the printer spool holder but had some issues with roll back tugging on the filament so I designed this one. It seems to be doing very well.
To make it work you also need to have the Spool Bolt and Nut, or something similar with the hole that just fits the threaded rod. I use the one at https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1624641/#files which I think is awesome.
Once printed just use two of the nuts that came with it, thread on so that it sits in the locking section of the print, and the second goes on top of that to provide a minimal amount of friction for pulling the filament. After that put your spool on and thread the filament through the built-in guide. plus it mounts right with the display and replaces the spacers.
I have made about 6 points using this version thus far and seems to be working better for me than the vertical style with no roll back yanking on the filament.
