This soap dish was designed with two things in mind - function and aesthetics. I wanted a print that would not have the stair-stepping on the inner slopes, where water is retained, and consequently microbial growth is promoted (bacteria and mold), but could not find one, so I made my own. The key is the right geometry and printing orientation, so no sloped surfaces are printed vertically. The inner base is sloped towards the drain, so this model is as sanitary as possible for a 3D print. There are two base designs, which can be used with or without an insert - one that has edges flush with inserts and one that has raised edges. There are also two optional inserts, a hexagonal / honeycomb design and a voronoi design, which are primarily for aesthetics (not functionally necessary).
