The Temple of Hercules Victor in Rome was built around 200 BC and still stands in the Piazza Bocca della Verità, just a few metres from the Temple of Portunus (thing:2650801). It has suffered a considerable amount of damage and modification over the years, but my model attempts to show it in its original form, restoring the missing entablature (the part between the top of the columns and the roof,)
THE MODEL:
The overall size of the assembled model is 15cm. diameter x 13cm. high. For the model in the photos I used 'True Brown' PLA for the roof-tiles and 'Warm Gray' for all the rest. The parts are designed to slot together for correct positioning:
The PODIUM, or base, contains square holes for positioning the twenty pillars.
The CELLA, the central circular structure.
The COLUMNS with pegs to fit into the square holes in the podium.
The ENTABLATURE, the part between the tops of the pillars and the roof.
The ROOF, with a hole for the finial to pass through.
