I had a hard time making the original magnetic attachment of ModMic sticking to Sony WH-1000XM5's surface. I didn't want to use too aggressive double-sided tape. There was also not enough freedom when adjusting the microphone's angle.

I chose velcro. This solution however wasn't ideal. I had to add extra foam to the ModMic's back surface to make it flat. The self-adhesive velcro tape didn't work well with such extra layers. I had to replace velcro from time to time and there was glue residue often being left.

Because of above problems I made a snap-on adapter which allows you to get a flat back surface without that magnet sticking out. This case can be glued to velcro using cyanoacrylate glue for example - ModMic won't be affected.

You can use this project to make other mounts for ModMic.

This case should be printed using flexible materials such as TPU. With stiff materials such as PETG it should be modified by removing the top rim and adding some bumps etc. to hold mic in place.
