Makes
Arcade controller (probably call it a Fightstick if you're in the FGC). Designed to play fighting games/ arcade games (Street Fighter, Tekken, Gauntlet, etc.). Since the front panel is separate from the box, the controller can be used by left-handed or right-handed players.
Printing:
Printed on a Gigabot 3+ at the University of Texas at Austin. Both pieces printed together took about 30 hours. The bed of the printer is 2 ft x 2 ft.
Used eSUN black PLA 3mm filament (actual diameter 2.85 mm +/- 0.05 )
Building:
The only part that may need explaining is screwing everything. For the front panel to the box, I used 'wood inserts' on the holes in the corners of the front panel and box (8 in total). To get the metal screw insert to stick to the 3D printed plastic, I used 2-way electrical tape - cotton. I'm sure you could maybe try super glue and plumbers tape but that's more permanent, so I chose to not do that. From there I used 1.5 - 2 inch screws in the 4 corners. The arc
