The OG spinner on the Aracde1Up Asteroids game is hot garbage. So, I designed this spinner to use with the original rotary encoder board. I know there's an aftermarket spinner that works with the game, and I did buy one. But it was stiff and didn't spin very well.
And since I got myself four other machines that use the same type of spinner, I felt designing a replacement that would cost less than $5 for all the materials was worth a shot.
You start by removing the old spinner assembly from the Asteroids control panel and pressing the bearing into the hole that's left. It should press in by hand without too much trouble. Only press on the outer edge of the bearing while doing this, or the bearing itself could be damaged. If the bearing doesn't go in a fairly easy manner, you may have to do a little sanding of the control panel to open the hole a bit. Once it's in, put a dab of lithium grease or 3-in-1 oil on the bearing to get it to spin more freely.
Next, screw the rotary enc
