This is the latest iteration of a patterned roller I use in the studio. A slightly larger version than before, I've chosen an asanoha design. This pattern is synonymous with Japanese textile design and it is derived from hemp. I got the idea of designing and printing these rollers for our students to help with confidence and creative flow. Many of our students lack creative esteem, or have been told they are not creative. This roller is to help break that lack of confidence, and to create textured slabs without having to draw detailed designs. The Fusion 360 file included allows for the design to be scaled up or down on the roller, or a completely new design embossed and revolved.
