L’antico mestiere delle lavandaie è da considerarsi lavoro simbolo per le zone rurali del paese. L'"as da lavar" è lo strumento in legno mche veniva usato dalle lavandaie che si recavano al torrente per lavare il bucato. Quella riprodotta in questo caso è l'asse da lavare che usava la mia mamma fino ai primi anni 2000. È stata praticamente l'ultima donna del mio paese a praticare questo mestiere.
