In the Star Wars prequels R2D2 takes flight with some leg-mounted booster rockets. The design in the film was solely digital, it showed rockets unfolding and emerging from within each leg. I wanted an alternate solution captured the look of those rockets but kept the parts on the outside of the existing leg, allowing for MUCH easier application. And … rockets are cool! Why would you hide them?

Here’s a video of the final product. I have added lights and sound which you can do as well:

I activate these via my radio controller. Your control set-up may vary.

To build these you need:
• Provided 3D-printed parts
• 2x Standard Servos
• 2x Servo Horns (hubs)
• Hardware as shown
