Athlete - 17th century Roman replica from an original from 440-420 BCE, Rome, Marble.

This impressive piece of sculpture is probably the inverted copy (left - right) of a work from the Ludovisi collection, copied in order to decorate the park in which the antiques were originally placed only in the 17th century. The sculptor has succeeded in perfectly imitating ancient work.
