Simple, strong and secure launch hook. I have used a 10m bungee cord (6030) with a metal ring at one end. It is used to connect to the launch hook. I have stretched the bungee cord this way up to 6kg without any issues. Personally, I grab both landing skids with the fingers of one hand when the cord has been stretched. Then I simply release it. So far it has always worked (20+ times tried).
Hardware needed to attach the hook to the plane:
- 2x M3 nuts
- 2x M3 bolts (length 30mm)
- 3 mm drill bit
Attaching:
- the hook is secured by 2x M3 bolts, going throught the battery bay plywood, through the fuselage and locking into the M3 nuts in the launch hook.
- drill a 3mm hole about through the center line of the plywood battery plate, about 2cm from the rear end of the plywood.
- carefully drill it all the way through the fuselage to the belly of the plane. Be carefull to do this slowly by turning the drillbit manually. Purpose is to make sure it goes straight down so the hook can be att
