I still remember the moment the AutoGrip Tripod idea clicked. I was on a hike—GoPro in my pack—trying to grab a quick sunset shot. The ground was rocky and uneven, and my tiny travel tripod kept slipping. I ended up balancing the camera on a stack of stones—sketchy at best. 😬🪨🌄 Back home, I started sketching. I wanted something compact, simple, and versatile, equally happy holding a GoPro or a small LED. After a handful of prototypes and a lot of 3D-printing trial and error, the AutoGrip Tripod was born. ✏️🛠️🧪 Now it’s not just for the trail; it lives on my desk for filming, photos, and quick lighting setups. What began as a minor hiking headache turned into one of my favorite DIY builds, and I’m excited to share it with makers who know the struggle of lining up the perfect shot. 📷✨ Here you have the instructions to assemble it: 1) First, insert the knob into the lower part of the threaded rod. 2) Screw the nut onto the threaded rod. 3) Insert one of the pins, as shown in the figure, into the slot in the threaded nut. 4) Repeat step 3 two more times. 5) Take the short rod with two holes and join it to the long rod, as shown in the figure, using one of the pins. 6) Hook the short rod to the lower ring, as in the figure. 7) Repeat steps 5 and 6 twice. And that’s it, your tripod is ready! 🎉 I hope this build sparks you to experiment, customize, and even improve it. That’s the maker spirit: turning everyday challenges into creative solutions. 🔧💡 Got ideas or feedback? Drop them in the comments, I’m all ears! 👇💬
