This is a re-work of Staircase Marble machines by Baychattan, in turn based on the work of SBolonaDesign with Automata - Marble Machine (links to the parts in References).
The reason for this reinterpretation is due to create a greater sloping track with obstacles for the marbles. It also allows larger marbles.
The finished machine can work with marbles up to 10 mm in diameter. 8 mm ball bearing size is recommended.
The project consists of the following parts:
- Base
- Top
- Axis
- Cams followers (five different ones, of increasing height)
- Disc cams (five of these needed - fit alternately up and down on the shaft)
- Handle
- Nut (goes on the end of the shaft)
A folder is shared with the parts with a tolerance around 0.2 to 0.5 mm.
Important: The tolerance of your 3D printer must be checked before printing the parts
For this, the original files (without tolerances) are shared in. STEP format, which can be modified in a CAD program (Fusion 360, Inventor, SolidW
