Backer Rod Insert Tool

I need to replace the expansion joints in my driveway, and I was looking at tools to evenly roll backer rod in before I seal the joints. The tools range in cost from $30 to $70 and I thought I could make something that would more or less do the same job.

Some hardware needs to be purchased to make this a reality, the holes are 5mm. Some washers will help reduce drag, or you could print the included spacers.

I'll be printing this next week and hope to upload some actual photos. Until then, it is a work in progress!

Updated 5/31: Printed and decided that I didn't like the "flex" of the part when pressure was applied, so I added (and way overbuilt) some connecting supports. File has been replaced.
