Backpacking Spatula Handle

I wanted a spatula/turner for cooking while backpacking. My goal was to achieve a total weight of less than 1 ounce with a nylon spatula with a removable or collapsible handle. Commercially available spatulas for the backpacking market were either too expensive or unserviceable or both. I found a suitable nylon spatula at a kitchen supply store, but its handle alone weighed 1.5 ounces, so I made my own handle.

Total weight goal was achieved at 0.98 ounces (27.8 grams). The handle weighs 11.8 grams.
