The otherwise brilliant Bambu Lab AMS uses a simple spring loaded buffer to be mounted on the back of C1/P1 series printers.
The buffer has two very avoidable design flaws:
- The tube release for the AMS unit is inaccessible. You need a kind of tool to unlock the tube from the buffer to disconnect the AMS unit.
I've solved this with a very simple extender that is just to be pushed on top of the lock ring.
- The two cables that go into the buffer, have their locking latches that also are inaccessible.
When plugged in, the latcthes sit between the plug itself and the backplate of the printer making it impossible to release the plug without a tool.
I've resolved this by creating a bracket that simply rotates the buffer 180 deg. so that the latches go outwards.
