I wanted a little stand for my R/C model sailboat, so I designed one. This stand can be glued together or packed flat, but it is so petite, I will probably just glue it up.
I have designed the cradle area with several millimeters of clearance all around the hull so that you can add self adhesive foam padding. I used some foam weatherstripping tape.
The pieces do not need support and should be printed as is. The parts are designed with chamfers to prevent “elephant foot”.
WARNING: This model is not designed with any clearance for fitting the dovetails. You may need to do some light filing on the dovetail to get the fit you are looking for. My printer will print this joint with a perfect friction fit with no modifications, yours may need a hand. You may need to up or down size the cross braces by a percent. YMMV
The model itself is a Banshee footy-class yacht from McAllister Models & Design. https://www.mcallistermodels.com/products.htm
.32 layer, 0.60 nozzle, 2
