I wanted a way to secure and retain a Baofeng handheld mic cable to a radio, but without having to use replacement screws for the clip. This design uses the metal lanyard hole, and clips to the edge of the display screen. It seems to hold the microphone cable quite securely, and prevent it from becoming loose or being unplugged.
This design does seem to work really well, but do note the following:
This works best on versions of the radio that have a flat (not sloped) plastic edge of the housing that touches the screen, so it can hook onto it. Sloped version can be bent to work, but it's not as secure.
YOU WILL NEED TO MODIFY THE FINAL PART WITH HEAT OR FLAME to fit your specific radio.
The part is under constant tension to work, so it's strongly advised to print in a higher temp material like PETG. Low temp materials like PLA will relax in warmth (like using the radio in summer heat or leaving it in a car).
Installation: I find using a flame torch works best.
