πΉ GrabCAD Description for βBase Bracketβ Base Bracket | CATIA V5 | Plastic Domain Design This Base Bracket has been designed in CATIA V5 using Automotive Plastic Domain methodology, starting from Class-A surface to final solid part. The project demonstrates complete understanding of plastic part design workflow, manufacturability, and tooling feasibility. πΉ Creation Process / Workflow Input Surface (Class-A) Imported the given styling/Class-A surface. Performed surface quality checks (continuity, curvature). Tooling Axis Creation Defined main tooling direction based on draft requirements. Ensured correct orientation for mold design. Class-B Surface Generated Class-B surface by offsetting Class-A (2.5 mm thickness). Added engineering features, fillets, and ribs where required. Class-C Surface Created Class-C surface to connect Class-A and Class-B. Ensured tangency and smooth connections. Final Join & Solid Body Joined A, B, and C surfaces to form a closed volume. Converted into solid body for validation. Draft Analysis Performed draft analysis to check tooling feasibility. Verified all faces meet plastic design draft standards. Parting Line Defined parting line along tooling axis for mold separation. πΉ Design Considerations Thickness: 2.5 mm (standard plastic wall thickness) Draft: Maintained for manufacturability Features: Ribs, holes, and proper surface continuity Feasibility: Checked with Draft Analysis & Parting Line creation πΉ Skills Demonstrated A, B, C Surface Modeling Plastic Part Design Standards Draft Analysis & Tooling Axis Parting Line Development CATIA V5 (GSD & Part Design Workbench)
