This is one of the Two Basilisks that show up in Historiae naturalis de quadrupedibus libri, cum aeneis figuris, Johannes Jonstonus which is illustrated by Matthäus Merian. There isn't much point in making the other as it is just a crowned snake. As far as I can tell the caption in the source says "the basilisk lives alone in Africa" in Latin, no idea what Aldro. is. It is also worth pointing out that cockatrice and basilisk were pretty much interchangeable at the time and most of the pictures of basilisks from medieval bestiaries I have seen look purely like cockatrices with two legs.
