Battery Holder

Inspired by the referenced thing, but decided this would work better as a laser cut.

Layed out the battery holes using Fusion 360 in sketch mode. Rectangular patterning works great for something like this.

Loaded into Inkscape for cutting, changed strokes to 0.001" so would cut and not engrave. Cut 1/8" birch on our Epilog 30W laser using blue tape to avoid scorch marks.

Glued the base to one of the sections and then used 3/4" spacers (cut from dowels) to finish with #4 1/2" antique brass screws.
