Remix - or addition to the Hex Terrain System created by Doctor_H found here: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4233860
I wanted to built a system that's fully reconfigurable and locks together to make it resistant to being knocked over (cat proof) so I designed locking caps and joints to allow everything to be locked together.
Instead of using hexes with multiple heights this uses all single height layers of hexes and locks them together with the Hex Joint pieces.
The top level of all the hexes is to be locked together with the "hex top" pieces. For these I used a photocopied map that I cut and glued into place on the printed hex tops. I used CAD software to combine the various hex top shapes into the configurations needed and printed them as one piece. I've included a small variety of hex tops for this.
The fit is pretty finicky and tight, the printer settings really need to be dialed in. I hope to do a revision someday that allows for more forgiving tolerances.
