I have designed a fully functional nuc that resembles and functions just like a full size hive. It has a removable lid that reveals a crown board. The crown board has a hole that can be used to introduce feed. There is also a cap that blocks the hole with vent holes inside for when the nuc is not being fed. Removing the crown board reveals the honey super which holds 6 break down frames. Removing the honey super reveals a queen excluder tray. You will need to purchase a queen excluder sheet and cut down to size. The excluder tray is recessed to allow a cut down queen excluder sheet to be glued in place. Removing the excluder tray reveals the brood box which holds 6 break down frames. Removing the brood box reveals the hive base and the entrance block. The entrance block can be used to reduce the hive entrance or rotated to block the entrance entirely or can be fully removed to fully open the front of the nuc.
