The above problems and initial research suggested that for minimal material launching cost and maximum bionutrient packing, a hexagon shape needs to be taken as inspired by honeybees. The smoothened honeycomb allows space for materials to escape. Minimal parts are to be used to ensure astronauts can easily assembly, hence a material with extreme high gas permeability and 3d printability was picked PDMS. The capillary cup design was ingrained to alleviate leakage, and maximize consumability inside the hexagon.
