Bernina 830 custom handle

I wanted a handle for my Bernina 830 I just bought because I didn't have the original transport case.

The trick was to create an attachment that would be removable and would sit above the center of gravity for easy handling.

After quite a lot of thought I came up with that design with a kind of strapping in two parts and 2 half trunions at the top and a handle that locks the 2 brackets together and secures the joint by a rotation.

The whole thing is quite sturdy and feels solid. So i'm happy with that.

The only thing I will add is a spring that keeps the two brackets together to prevent the risk of them coming apart and ensure that the handle will not hold only one part.

Then you can just sew a simple cover with a hole to let the handle go through and you have a nice set up for easy transport and dust protection. :)
