To lock the jaw in place push it forward and tilt it up. Tilt down to unlock. The jaw can be difficult to move up and down at first, in that case just keep working it until it slides nicely. The lock pin is to stop the jaw from falling off. You can use the rubber packaging from vape cartridges for better grip as I have done.
