Birch Sap spile

used for draining birch sap in late winter/early spring. Needs a 12 mm hole. Don't forget to seal the hole when you are finished. There are lots of videos on YouTube explaining exactly what to do and why.

Have a go a casting this object in metal; aluminium is not too difficult.

Metal spiles work better since you will need to hammer them into the hole in the tree and prise them out after you have finished.
