Birdhouse Bluebird

This eastern bluebird house is designed based on the North American Bluebird Society (NABS) recommended specifications.This nestbox is not “perfect” but hopefully increases the odds that the birds coming to your nestbox will remain safe through the nesting cycle and that their offspring will fledge successfully. The entrance is 1-½ inches and will welcome species other than bluebirds. There are slots inside the house, under the door to help the chicks climb to the entrance. These slots are typically recommended on the exterior as well, but the bricks around the entrance should do the job. These bricks also make the entrance hole deeper and make it more difficult for predators. There are air vents on the roof and water drains in the floor. The access door in the floor is built like a mason jar lid so that you can clean the nest after every summer. The house is installed with 4 pan head screws.
