I decided to make a cheap-as-chips E-Skateboard, and as such I found the wheels unsuitable for mounting the gear on so I came up with some very basic inserts to put in the wheels.
These acted both as a template for drilling the holes and allowed the gear to come out form the hole of the wheel so it would line up on the motor gear perfectly as well as using the other side to secure it properly against a second insert.
The second piece was a simple battery mount. I secured this to the bottom of the skateboard (I started with epoxy, but changed over to screwing it in the bottom of the board) put adhesive velcro on the mount and threaded a battery strap through the holes. I added the small tags as an idea to fit a cover for the lipos on with an elastic band or something, but so far haven't needed it.
