Hand microphone containing PTT button, speaker and microphone.
I had great fun with the BITX40 transceiver kit from hfsigs.com, but didn't like having the PTT and microphone case-mounted. Added a speaker as well, feels more comfortable than headphones. My build here connects to the BITX40 with cat5e ethernet cable and a DB9 connector pair, works well but the ethernet is keen on curling up.
You can tune the knobs at the start of the .scad file to your components. I used:
- the microphone from the BITX40 kit
- a storebought 66mm diameter speaker (8 Ohms, 2W, labeled "MLS3")
- a storebought case-mountable push button (10mm)
- cat5 ethernet cable going to a DB9 connector
- 4x M3x10 bolts to mount the cover
- hot glue to keep the microphone and speaker in place
