Blade lock for Collapsing Lightsabre

I love the collapsing lightsabre, but I wanted to hang it from my costume belt and of course the blade kept falling out. I modelled and printed this simple “lock”, glued the ring to the face and bolted the cap on with an M2-8 bolt.

My wife was quick to point out that the cover could have been much smaller, since it does not need to cover the entire opening to do its job. I preferred the aesthetics of this design, but would love to see better designs posted here.

NOTE the depth of the ring here was chosen to accommodate the bolt length and to allow me to slide the blade slightly forward of the end. Shifting the blade was enough to allow me to balance the assembled lightsabre on the sabre’s power switch.
