Board and Batten Jig
*This jig will save you a lot of time as it eliminates the need to measure and mark each board.
Meant for 1-1/2" wide boards but can easily be customized.
HOW TO USE:
First thing I did was measure my wall and the position of each outlet/switch with the switch covers in place. I then drew the wall out on a piece of paper and ran the math to find what spacing between boards would work without overlapping any outlets or switches.
Print two jigs with supports
Cut a 1-1/2" board a few inches longer than the length of the spacing you need.
Attach jigs to the board (note the center line notches) and drill holes with a 5/32 drill bit.
Insert screws (8/32 threads x 1-3/4 length) with nuts on the back side. Double check your center-center distance by measuring from center line to center line from one jig to the other. Make sure the nuts are tight and that the boards have a nice fit in the jig. Screw holes are slotted so you have an adjustment of about
