If you've tried making boba at home, you'll know that it is a massive pain to cut and roll each ball. If you haven't, know that this is a massive pain. Also definitely try making boba at home!
I designed it to roll balls of 8mm so you'll want to roll each strip into a diameter slightly smaller than 1cm. Dust the surfaces of the tool with tapioca flour to make the shaping easier. I've found that dusting the strips themselves works well too. I like to press the lid down against the table and push it back and forth.
P.S. Some words from the boba connoisseur in me. More hydration in the dough makes the boba softer and closer to the consistency of mochi which I like. I often work with a rather sticky dough and generous dusting usually does the trick. Rinsing the boba in running water right after cooking is very important too, it removes heat and helps stop the outer part of the boba from continuing to cook and becoming mushy.
