Bracket Competition

Mass: 0.0996 pounds Volume: 2.0164 in^3 Bracket is designed to be printed with the datum A facing down and datum B vertical. Grid is drafted so that it is larger at the base than at the top. If printed in recommended orientation, this should reduce or eliminate support material needed inside of the grid. This is ideal because removing non-dissolvable support material from internal geometries, particularly small geometries that are deeper than they are wide, can be difficult. Space is left around holes in order to allow hardware and tool access during fastener installation. Analysis is performed assuming fixed bolt holes, roller support on datum A and vertical distributed load on datum B. Update: Internal angles in extruded grid are filleted to reduce stress concentrations at corners.
