Do you own this piece of yesteryear audio beauty, but cannot play vinyl because the head shell is broken?
A friend asked if I could fix his and some research suggests that this breakage may be quite common. It is certainly quite an elegant, light design, but there is a definite weak point in the attachment of the head shell to the tonearm.
There are 3 designs here. Consider this as work-in-progress as I have not yet had access to the player again to actually try the fitment. If you've tried it, let me know!
##### Design 1#####
The first (original) is closest to the original head shell design. But I am afraid that this will just perpetuate the problem. The original appeared to have the stem glued into the tonearm to keep its orientation. This caused it to be very difficult to remove the piece that broke off inside the tonearm. I suspect this first design would also need to be glued in. This would mean that when the stem of the replacement eventually fails, it may again be ver
