The goal of this project was to design a car on a 3D printing software called OnShape. We 3D printed cars that would travel a distance and then we calculated the energy transfer from the battery to the motion of the car. We would also calculate where all of the lost energy went.
Our chassis designs were supposed to be both efficient and creative. The cars function by attaching PASCO low friction wheels and a PASCO fan to my car as well as placing a steel rod through the top body of the car so that PASCO can measure the amount of time the car stays in motion between two PASCO time trackers. The car is being tracked by PASCO Capstone and we can use that data to find how much energy converted from the supplied energy, by the battery, into kinetic energy, of the moving car.
