This is my take on a BT40 Tool Tag.
There are several other designs that already exist with most following the general form of a flat horizontal tag. For my application the tools are stored close to each other and the tag would hit the tool next to it meaning the tag needs to be vertical for it to fit.
I went through a few iterations before reaching this design. My first attempt had a label holder where you could insert some paper / card however it wasn't durable enough with it easily breakable. That is when I came up with the idea of a 2 piece design, After a few iterations I came up with a profile that felt nice, was easy to put on and take off. I did trial heat set nuts however they are more expensive and need more tools / time to install, there was also more risk of installation error so I changed to hex nuts. I then made it a bit more compact so it should work with 70mm or above grid spacing. Lastly I made the front a little bit wider to accommodate 66mm wide labels.
