Bucket Drum

This design incorporates a funnel-like system that uses the angular shape of the outside scoops to push larger material into the taller center scoop, all while taking in the smaller material. Two blades help break up material before excavation. The design has a center scoop of width 175 mm and two side scoops with a width of 87.5 mm. The drum has a diameter of 400 mm and a overall length of 360 mm. The mass is 4765 grams with a composition of 1060 aluminum alloy. With a fill ratio of 50% the volume of regolith captured is roughly 20 L. This design could be manufactured using traditional methods such as molding or machining. Both saw blades would most likely be welded or fastened with bolts.
