This is a bulky caliper with use intended for student that may break things easily.
You should support the reading marker while printing.
It may changes in the future to add customization or to be a lil bit more precise.
It's supposed to only give full mm but if the reading marker point on line between two mark, you can consider a .5mm.
It only goes to 69mm, as it's supposed to be used for thickness of metal sheets and small other things.
The sliding part isn't loose at all and self center itself with the little round things at the corner, it also gives the ability to "retain" the readed length for a bit.
The marks are deep so you can contrats with multicolor filament, same for number they extend out of the caliper.
