These files were developed to make consistent and accurate drop tubes for use with the AmmoMike Open Bulletfeeder project. I used the microswitches with varied success for quite some time, but found the lightweight 9mm bullets would not always trip the switch.
So I designed my own tubes and tested them. They work great. The optical sensor circuit board is mounted directly to the tube. These keeps you from having a mess of wires and the extra weight helps reset the feeder die properly.
I have loaded thousands of rounds of 9mm with no issues. It works every time.
This is designed for use with the DAA drop springs and the DAA bullet feeder dies. This gives you the most consistent performance. The Hornady die will not work with lead or powder coated bullets. I have not used the the 3D droppers, but I hear they work fairly well.
I printed the tubes at 100% infill for the weight. Knobs were printed at 30% infill.
Wiring diagram included.
